About the Author
Muhammed al-Ahari is the author of several works on Islam in America including "Five Classic Muslim Slave Narratives," "Islam in America and Other Writings by Muhammad Alexander Russell Webb," and "A Heritage of East and West: the collected writings of Shaykh Kamil Yusuf Avdich". Muhammed converted to Islam in 1982 and has studied at the America Islamic College and under numerous Sufi Shaykhs and Islamic scholars. He currently teaches in the Chicago Public School system and has a Masters in English and Secondary Education and is all but Dissertation for a Doctorate in Education Leadership.

Tracing our roots back to Bani Israel

This book was the most important book I've read in years.
It takes us back to the history of The chattel slaves fighting
for this country in the war of 1812.
We are veterans who can say that our foreparents fought
against the British in 1812.
The false promise of the offer of freedom to the slaves if
they would fight on the side of the British and the British
had won was lower than a snake as my Mother would say

Gives some information about Bilal Muhammad ability to continue Islam while in the position of slavery and after but no information on conflict between christians slaver owners and other slaves who didn't convert.
