Gay-Themed Fantasy Page Turner That More Than Holds Its Own Against Other Books In the Genre

Citiyo Dreams is an interesting supernatural-fantasy tale about a young man named Citiyo Jackson who discovers that the world isn't quite the way he had always thought it to be. While arriving to school one morning with his best friend Ruby, he meets a charismatic young man named Jon. Jon, as it turns out, possesses a number of supernatural abilities along with the rest of his family. As Citiyo is drawn in to the drama of Jon's life, the two begin to fall in love with one another, but ultimately this love is tested by fate and forces seemingly beyond their control. Ultimately, Citiyo discovers that he also possesses great powers, but must learn how to control them in order to not hurt the ones around him who he cherishes the most.

One could easily say that this is a gay version of Twilight, but that wouldn't do Citiyo Dreams justice. Author Jamie Assiah does a remarkably good job at teasing out Citiyo's complex personality, that seems torn between obligations to family and the desire to make his own path in life. He already faces stigmatization due to being biracial, but the loneliness he feels is only compounded by his sexual orientation. The supporting characters are also drawn beautifully, including the lovely minister's daughter Ruby and the ever-supportive yet bluntly speaking grandpa.

Above all else, Citiyo Dreams is an emotionally-satisfying, provocative tale that will keep readers turning the page. In fact, it is easy enough to read the whole novel in just two sittings, because it is just that good. The love between Jon and Citiyo is authentic, and isn't rushed or over sexual. It develops slowly during the course of the novel, and I was more than happy to follow this transformation of their relationship as it blossomed. Overall, it is rare to find a homosexual relationship portrayed in fantasy fiction that isn't overtly sexual and reduced tor random acts of sex. With Jon and Citiyo, the reader cares for them and their relationship, and that helps to set up the emotional drama that follows as the story reaches its end.

The ending itself really showcases the talents of the writer Jamie Assiah. Unlike so many other books within the fantasy genre, the resolution to the story isn't wrapped in a neat package where everything is worked out for the better and life seems perfect. Instead, the ending is true to the way things often happen in the real world. Citiyo must endure difficult lessons and accept hard truths in order to grow as an individual and follow his own journey in life. At the conclusion, he has become a different man, but hasn't fully achieved everything he desires.

Im not the kind who would read a book like this but props gotta be given where they are due. Well written with believable characters and a well thought out plot. I could see this appeal to those who liked Twilight although it's more like it shares the same genre rather than being a wannabe or copycat.

Guess Kindle has become some sorta clearinghouse for wannabe authors who put out lacklustre books who never would have been published otherwise but this is an exception and well worth reading. Very original.

Grisone's treatise and the riding masters trained at his riding academy in Naples, Italy, spread the practice of the art of manège riding to courts throughout Europe. Twenty-three Italian editions of the text were published between 1550 and 1620 and the treatise was translated into French, English, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Many of the concepts Grisone discusses in his treatise--such as developing contact between horse and rider and collection in the horse--are still major tenets of modern dressage riding. The haute école or High School movements of classical dressage are still practiced today by such traditional academies such as the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria and the Cadre Noir in Saumur, France.

Federico Grisone published Gli ordini di cavalcare (The Rules of Riding) in 1550,

manège. Elizabeth Tobey and Federica Brunori Deigan have prepared the first

Elizabeth MacKenzie Tobey received her Bachelor's of Arts in Art History from Smith
College in 1993 and her Master's and Doctoral degrees in Art History & Archaeology at
the University of Maryland in 1997 and 2005 respectively. Dr. Tobey has incorporated
a lifelong interest in horses into her scholarship on equestrian culture in early modern
Italy and has worked at the National Sporting Library and Museum in Middleburg,
Virginia and at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. Currently
she is working for the University System of Maryland on the Gates/Ithaka Project, and
pursuing a Masters in Library Science at the University of Maryland.

Federica Brunori Deigan was born and raised in Italy, where she received a "laurea"
in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Rome La sapienza and a
professional diploma from the School for Interpreters of Rome. She obtained her Ph.D.
in Italian Studies from the Johns Hopkins University in 2005. She has taught Italian language,
literature, and culture at Hopkins, at the University of Pennsylvania, and at the University
of Maryland at College Park, where she is currently a Senior Lecturer in Italian. Her
research interests are the Italian national identity and the history and literature of the 19th
century and 20th century.

Franz Zeier, a Swiss designer, has taught bookbinding at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich for over two decades. He has exhibited work in numerous shows and is the author of a book on design with paper.

The Art of Containing Space

I dabble in photography as an art form. One of the things I like to do is make a series of prints and assemble them into a bound book or portfolio. I have worked with several very fine book/album makers in the design. My only problem is that the process is costly, even though it can be deeply satisfying.
It was several years ago that the urge came upon me to investigate making of books and portfolios myself. While casting about among a limited set of resources, I came upon Franz Zeier's guide. It has been my guidepost ever since. In fact, it is a measure of Zeier's success that this volume has been in print in English for 12 years and is still in print.
Zeier's objective, to provide clear instructions for building many paper-based objects without the need for mechanical tools. Nor does he focus on decorative techniques. Because of this, he does not investigate leather binding, blind and gold tooling, gilt edges, decorated papers, and other such additions. He believes that the opportunities afforded by the basic, 'preliminary' techniques are sufficiently enough to satisfy the many of the creative urges of hobbyists and craftsmen.
The text addresses materials, techniques, solids, mats, boxes, portfolios, books and albums in a straightforward, easy to follow fashion. The book itself is extremely well made, obviously intended for survival in the workshop. An interesting feature is that Zeier eschews photographs, preferring to illustrate his techniques with drawings. I think this works well, because a drawing can emphasize the important parts of a process better than a camera can.

The writer maintains that to alleviate poverty and transform Liberia into a developmental state, the Legislature needs to assume its role by becoming robust, efficient and effective. It must promulgate pro-poor laws and policies intended to alleviate widespread poverty. This will engender national development. He concludes that the National Legislature, through prudent budgetary allocation, needs to promote infrastructural development, the right to food, equitable access to quality education, healthcare, safe drinking water, and public housing.

Tom Kaydor earned a Diploma in Management and Development of NGOs from the Galilee College, Israel; Certificate-Human Rights Based Approach & Results Based Management from UN System Staff College, Turin, Italy; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy and Negotiation from the Islamabad Foreign Service Academy, Pakistan. Did not want this book to end!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book! The plot was great with a little suspense to it that I enjoyed. This story also has a few surprise twists to it that I did not see coming. A nice storyline about families both at different points in their lives but also have parallel stories. The two main female characters are very well developed. I look forward to reading more books from this author. I really like Her writing style.

Would Be a Great Book Club Read

This is a great book to suggest for your book club. I read it on my own, but wished I had some others to discuss it with. I definitely had a favorite of the two wives early on. And the other one was aggravating me early on! But... I can see how others might side with her, so I think there'd be some lively #TeamClaire v. #TeamEleanor discussion amongst book club members! I especially loved how Paterka deftly handled the character arc for each of the wives as the novel progressed. Lots of good stuff to dig into here!

Eleanor Anderson had no idea what was going to happen after her husband Richard died of a heart attack. What she REALLY didn't know, was that his death would turn her world around completely.

Eleanor's husband's work took him away from home for weeks every month. Although they had been married for 38 years, the spark had gone away long ago. Richard was a great provider for her family so Eleanor never had anything to worry about. She had quit her job as a teacher right after her children were born as Richard promised he would take care of her.

After Eleanor finds Richard dead, problems arise. Their insurance agent discovers he had given his policy to another woman...named Claire Anderson.

Without giving too much away, I will say there were a couple times during this book that the suspense was killing me! Soon after Eleanor's family finds that he had given away almost all their money to another woman, the story gets very exciting. They find out Richard married another woman four years ago, and neither woman had any idea. The concept of this is so crazy that it had me hooked instantly. However, I thought the amount of internal struggle was a little too much. There were too many questions being asked in the character's heads. Some people may enjoy this, but for me it became somewhat dull.

This is a "must-have" book in every technical library!

This is an excellent overview of Telecom, Datacom, and Networking. Eric Coll is an articulate, thoughtful technical writer with an obvious mastery of this challenging field, and he brings all his skill to bear in this book. For such a broad technical coverage, the book avoids skipping over critical points, and provides an in-depth look as appropriate to allow you to put everything into proper perspective, and to relate how each technology works with the others. There are a number of excellent analogies, some neat history, and overall, a simply excellent structure. Easy to read, memorable, and chock-full of information.

I hesitate to call books brilliant, but this is about as close to that as it comes. Very, very highly recommended!

About the Author
"Thomas Kissell" has been a technical instructor and consultant in the field of industrial automation at Terra Community College in Fremont, Ohio for over twenty years. He has spent the majority of his career working directly with area industries, where he taught electricians and technicians directly on the factory floor. This training included installation, troubleshooting, and repair of major automation and motor control systems. The author has integrated this practical approach to troubleshooting and repair into this text, which includes the theory of operation of all traditional motor control components and circuits as well as state-of-the-art controls and control systems used with programmable controllers and robots.

Over the years Thomas Kissell has worked directly with the following companies: Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Texas Instruments, Union Carbide, Libbey Owens Ford, American National Can Company, TRW, Whirlpool Inc., General Mills, Campbell Soup Co., and Heinz USA. The author taught courses to technicians and engineers in these companies, and he was able to work side by side with some of the best electricians and electrical technicians in the world, troubleshooting their most complex problems. At these times, the author became their student, and they taught him the tricks and troubleshooting procedures that consistently located and repaired electrical problems. These procedures have been documented and are included in every chapter of this text.
