terrific updating of a classic

I have used Doug Buehl's previous editions of this book for about 20 years because I find something helpful in it for almost any any teaching situation. I have embraced other favorite texts for professional development, too, but I have never abandoned this one. This newest edition has such a masterful approach to integrating the Common Core State Standards across the content areas that I am recommending it heartily. You can't go wrong adding this book to your professional library.

Strategies were the best

A lot of the strategies in this book were useful after I tweaked them a bit (which is what Buehl recommends in another book he wrote). The book is broken down by section, what strategies a teacher might need when front loading, establishing concepts, etc. This was massively helpful so I didn't have to read all the strategies in this book to find the ones that might help me teach. I purchased this book for my Master's in Teaching program, but I recommend this book to any teacher needing an idea boost on lessons.
